Power Dogg Call
« on: January 13, 2010, 06:26:13 AM »
I would like to get a Power Dogg predator call. Been reading about them and they look easy and dependable. I have not ever used one and was wondering if anyone has any personnel; reports on them. Thanks.

I wouldn't just for the fact that your stuck with the sounds on the call and cannot change them. Plus it seems to me you have geese and deer sounds in the call (or used to). I wouldn't buy one myself but it is selling to those who don't want the expense of  foxpro.

I got one for christmas and I'm about 50% satisfied with it.  It seems at first that it's not real loud, but it's directional so if you're standing directly in front of it it's loud enough.  The calls are okay with the exception of the cottontail one, it sucks ass.  Sound like a computer is doing the calling.  I have called in a few dogs with it and am pretty happy.  For $118 I wasn't expecting much.

they got the new spitfire that is 199.99 they got the bugs worked out of the remote so for another 50.00 i would look at it if you want a new caller mouth calls are great i use them all the time but allot of my stands are longer than 20 min and bear and coug can be 45-1hr hard to blow a mouth call that long and not get tired. :twocents:

If you want to stay in the $100 range look at the Johnny Stewart Prey Master.  It is not a true remote as it has a wire to the speaker but the sounds are very good and it is plenty loud.  It comes with a 10' and another 25' extension cord.  I just use the 10' wire as I feel I don't always need the sound far away from me if I sit still and don't move.  This call is a good one for $99.99 and I have used mine with good success.  All that being said if you want a remote caller get a Fox Pro, they are very good callers.  I now use a Fox Pro FX5 and it works great.

That call blows too. You have to buy the sound chips. The same sounds are on several chips. So lets say you own 4 chips with 4 sounds each. You will not have 16 different sounds you may have 10. They go for $20.00 a piece too. Dude, just buy a foxpro!

I bought one several months ago. Power Dogg that is. 1st time out was rainy and it quit midday from getting wet. had to take it apart to dry it. So I made a cover for it out of seal a meal bag. Wont buy one of those again. it has brought in coyotes though. Fawn distress and woodpecker distress work good.

I don't know what is to hate about it it is cheap and it works. I would say that the only down side is that you are stuck with the sounds but, that is more of a annoyance that hate. My brother inlaw has one and it has brought yotes withing 40yards. I think most people just belive you have to spend alot of money on a e-call. You should learn to mouth call and use the mouth calls with the e-call and I think you will get the best results. Just my  :twocents:

I'm going to upgrade to a Foxpro Fury, and would sell my Foxpro FX3 for $300. It's snow camo, like new.

I can testify it sounded great when we went out.
