Nosler Rifles

Just wondering if anyone has one and what they think of it. Just watched a stag hunt where a guy made a pretty good shot with a Model 48 .270WSM

Ive seen them before but I have not shot or seen one shot. Im sure there pretty nice.

I have heard nothing but great things about them. I have thought about getting one myself but I cant bring myself to fork that kind of money for one yet. You definitely cant go wrong with one that is for sure.

I seen one a Cabelas last year in the gun vault. Sure looked nice. I have heard they are real good shooting guns.

I don't have one. Never shot one. I've read a few articles about them. I can't afford one. But for the money, I could have a damn nice custom rifle built. One that would most likely be more accurate.

The only thing I like about them is that they come in some 'not quite as popular chamberings'.

i know a few people with them. all 3 say they are decent rifles and shoot "good"...but they were not worth the price tag at all.
also most people i see talking about them on other forums say they do not seem to be built to a "custom" standard. just a "custom factory rifle" basiclly....


that being said, i have held one and shot about 20 rounds through one of them. fit and finish looked good. the gun shouldered nicely and shot great imo. under an inch @ 100yds. i would personaly buy one if i had the extra cash laying around to buy a new rifle.

i have only shot one in the modle 48 guy had one at the range and wanted to shoot my 454 casull and i said if i could shoot his nosler got fit, good feel, well balanced, shot good but no better than my sako's will. but like said if i am going to spend that kind of $ for a hunting rifle i will buy a christenson arms or gun works rifle. was fun to shoot.

the M48 varimint in the january 2010 american hunt looks pretty sweet..... and expensive.

If you want to play with one, there is a 48 in .300wm in Cabelas right now (or was the other day).

i had a christensen, neat gun....a lot of "cool factor" my gre-tan will crush it for accuracy. if you want a shooter.....I wish you luck with christensen. mine could shoot good, but was finicky. my gre-tan can't seem to shoot over a minute with odd ammo.

what is a gre-tan?  never heard of that one before.  please enlighten me.

high country i have seen and heard the same things were i hand load i could find a sweet load for it and when you get a sweet load they can do great i shot a 300 ultra that shot half min for me was with 180 nosler parts and was a real shooter. but they are not a gun that you just throw off the shelf ammo in it and expect great things i am sure you can find one but i like to play with loads and find a great one.

mine was a 300rum too. it liked a 180 tsx seated stupid deep and the slowest powder I could get it. it would then shoot a honest .625 group. the gre-tan is a rifle smithed by greg tannel, one of the legends.

Not sure why a guy would want one of theirs.  I'm sure they're just fine but there are a ton of proven guns out there for a variety of tastes... Cooper, Christensen, Jarrett, Lazzerorni, build your own, etc.  Just like all the new calibers... most don't offer any real advantage over what's been available for decades.  Having choices/competition is nice though.  Makes for fun discussion if nuthin else.
