dennis @ wholesale sports/ sportsmens wharehouse
« on: January 20, 2010, 07:32:19 AM »
good guy. he spent about an hour with me last night, we were trying to optimize my performace for this years 3-d shoots. he had alot of good knowledge and i knew immediately he knew what he was talking about. we dropped my draw from 70 to 60 lbs, went with the best/lightest arrows i could afford, i ended up from a 450 + grn hunting arrow to a 350 grn arrow for 3-d. went from shooting 265 @ 70 lbs to 280 @ 60 lbs. he also kept my bow to tune it. i thought i was good but we shot through paper to reveal i have about a 1 1/2 inch low left to high right tear. this guy really knows his shiz and if you need any help or advice i recommend going to see him. i was very impressed. thanks agian buddy

I also have had Dennis work on my General and get it tuned with a new rest. He did a great job and was very quick. I just ordered new strings and cables from Larry and Ryan had them on within 4 days from when I ordered them! Winners Choice. Those guys are great. I would recommend them to anyone that needed work with their gear.

I wonder if this is the same Dennis that used to be at the Burlington store. That fellow was patient and open-minded as well as knowledgeable .

I haven't seen him at the Burlington store in a while (not that I go in there too regularly) but it was nice to find an archer instead of a salesman.

i see what your saying about the small shop, but these guys are great.
i went to pick up my arrows and bow tonight and Larry said lets go shoot it to see if its tuned good for you. so we did.  turns out my  rest is kinda funky. so he said lets try this biscuit to see if its your rest that is giving us tune problems. turns out it was my rest. at this point I'm thinking, great. Larry says do you have a shoot coming up and i said yea, whidby bowmen this weekend. so he says. just hold on to this biscuit until you can buy a new rest. i was floored. he even went as far as tuning it perfectly for me. I'm thinking this is awesome... so Larry takes off for the night. so i just start bs'in with Dennis as he is helping another guy. he says when I'm done here i wanna see you shoot. so i hang around. he finishes with the other guy. we go back to there 9-10 yard range. i start shooting. and I'm shooting my typical 2-3 inch group at 10 yards. so then he starts giving me tips on my form. he gave me 5 over all each one i worked on my shot group was getting smaller until i could hit a dot the size of a postage stamp every shot. i was cheesin ear to ear. when someone teaches me something and i can see it working i can't help but smile. the service i received from Dennis and Larry was unparalleled to anything i have ever experienced. in all i spent 2 hours at there store and i learned things that would have taken me years to figure out on the range... Dennis said the day i out shoot him @ a contest i owe him 5 bucks, and i tell ya it will be the best five bucks i ever spent. i would never have expected the attention and service i received from sportsmans warehouse. it was refreshing and now there gona have to beat me away with a stick.

The archery guys at the Federal Way Wholesale Sports rock!  It's the only place I'll go, now.  I've purchased bows and services from some of the local "pro" shops and was less than impressed.  Not trying to rag on pro shops.  There are some great ones out there, but just because they're a "pro" shop doesn't always mean the person helping you is an expert or makes customer service their number one priority.  Just my  :twocents:

:yeah: the only archery shop that gets my buisness.

Glad you had good service. Went to the Portland location, after calling them up and being told they had X scope in stock. Went all the way over there, about 90 minutes, just to find it wasn't there afterall. Waste of time and gas. Emailed the company about it and never did hear back from them. Not impressed with Wholesale Sports at all and doubt I'll go back. And thats after I defended them about their empty shelves when they were just taking over...

Anyone from Wholesale Sports reading this? I'm still waiting for an explanation or a reply

Let it Fly... it could be that they just like that green beanie you wear... LOL  Just kidding!  Awesome that they are that attentive and helpful.   Not all "pro" shops are like that,  but I know a few that are.  I try to support my local shop, (Wilderness) as he has always gone out of the way for everyone I know and also helps support the local archery clubs.  I do spend money at wholesale sports too....   Now that I know you have it all worked out I am sure you will tear it up this weekend and not let the girlfriend kick your butt!   ;)

i just got a new bow from rainer archery but when i went back to get a new rest they where closed so i headed to sportmans warehouse because it was close to my house.  3 1/2 hours later i left there with a new rest and shooting playing card size groups a 20yds I thought this was pretty good considering i have only shot a bow twice in my life.  hats off to the whole archery dept in the federal way store (not so much at the gun counter).

I was at Cabelas one day looking for a new sight.  They didn't have exactly what I was looking for, so I drove over to the Lacey Wholesale Sports.  They had what I was looking for.  The gentleman helping me did a good job of getting it all setup, tuned, and even provided some useful shooting tips.

I would love to support the archery shop close to my house but...WHAT A BUNCH A ARROGANT SNOBS!!! I am originally from Texas and I thought I had seen rednecks. This guy is in a class by himself.

If you aren't about to drop a grand and you aren't talking what they want to sell...boy, I hadn't seen anyone look down their nose like that since I watched a Hillary campain speech.

I support Lancaster Archery and Keystone Country Store along with buying directly from the manufacturer when price competitive.

I also support my Sportsman's Warehouse (old name). It is half way to the next shop and both the warehouse and the shop (Riverside Archery Mt. Vernon) seem to understand we don't all have unlimited credit card access or small personal fortunes.

I am 56 years old and I react poorly when someone treats me like I'm a complete idiot.
