Our Hunting Partner(s)
« on: February 07, 2010, 03:29:02 PM »
Thought I'd start a thread for pictures of our 4 legged bird hunting partners from this last season.

This is my old girl.  She's 10 now.  She is starting to have some issues with joint pain, hearing and sight.  Every time I was ready to go, so was she.  The desire in these bird dogs is truly something.  I know our time in the field is in the latter stages, so I am trying to get a few pictures in the field I will remember with her as the focus of the picture.  Excuse the quality of two of the pictures as they came from my cell phone.  The first is in the blind waiting for daylight, the 2nd is her with a couple snows, and the third is her relaxing during a dead time in the day.  Those eyes just look right through me...

Let's see your 4 legged hunting partner...

Goldeneye those are what it's all about great shots  :rockin:

My Macey is going on 8 and I'm not ready to bring myself to want to start another but i know that the way we hunt them in the wet and cold takes it toll on them rather quickly so getting pics is always on the top of my list to save the memories.

OK so one of my best huntin buds ain't a four legged one but I sure like when they both are ready to go  :brew:

Tim, the old girl still takes a good picture and she's a great poker buddy.

Like the one of the calls on the lanyard around the boys neck. I think a big part of waterfowling for me is knockong the birds down just to watch the dog go after whatever I hit. Such loyalty is really found no where else.  ;)
