Just picked up on this from a friend's email..............check it out.  Should make you all feel warm and fuzzy all over, considering all the recent threads on how our dollars are spent, and the lack thereof.

"The new position is called "Climate Change Coordinator". It pays $4886.00 - $6850.00 monthly.
Please refer to Washington State Fish and Wildlife, Employment Opportunity, Washington Management Services recruitment # 1314-10.  Please check out the "Job Summary" portion of this position. From what I could tell only GOD qualifies for this job."

Here's the link.................... :bash:

Must be part of the budget cuts combining a climate coordinator and a change coordinator.

The job description is written for someone with those qualifications that is known in the department. I've run across a lot of job listing like this on local, state, and federal levels. A department head knows of a person with these exact qualifications and gets the job written up so when THAT person's job app. appears they are #1 in every-one's eyeballs.

That's a given...............the problem is the job itself.  In this economic climate and all that's going on with license fees, new application process to get more dollars, on and on and on......  what the hell is WDFW thinking.  That's got to be the most ridiculous expenditure of funds I have ever seen....period.

Washington like many other states, is financially strapped and cutting jobs and these loonies come up with this new job to spend money on........just like always....cut staff out in the field when budget cuts are directed by the Governor then turn around and do something like this.  It's not needed............climate change is smoke and mirrors.....just like this job!

You think I will make it to the interview process?

Gotta have fun when you can!

Shootmoore

I doubt you will get a call, but I hope you do.  It would be priceless to see the look on the interviewers faces when they talk to you...... :)
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

Someone should type up a resume that that matches the criteria perfectly so they can go to the interview and rip them a new ass hole.

WTF? Seriously, WTF?

The only climate change they should be concerned about is the change that will happen when people finally get sick of the b.s. coming out of Olympia and kick their asses to the curb. Then again, they do tend to pander to the Seattle crowd. Unfortunately, they have enough voting power to effect everyone else in the state.

Well, I read it but I still don't really know what the job is about. I am wondering if perhaps they are creating this position in order to take advantage of federal money that may be provided so the state can be prepared for climate change. Maybe an employee is getting laid off from some other program and being put into this, which could possibly be saving the state money if the new position is funded by the feds. Because otherwise, I just can't imagine why they'd be creating a new position, especially one that pays as much as this one does.

Nothing entertains me more than when government specs a job or contract for a specific person or company, and someone comes in more qualified and they have to come up with excuses as why not to hire the more qualified individual or contractor.

I'm sooo excited!!! I think Al Gore is coming to work here in Washington!!! ;) This is why I wish they would split the state right down the middle (east-west). Without the liberal support of the westside this B.S. would not fly. My apologies to the level headed thinking westsiders.... :bash:

don't you mean to D.C. in 2014?  Sorry I am still thinking that is funny.  I picture myself running a campaign against Patty Murray or maria cantwell or whoever and it makes me laugh.   :chuckle:
