Montana come home to hunt tags
« on: February 19, 2010, 06:15:18 PM »
Anybody from Washington putting in for the come home to hunt tags in Montana.  It is a new draw tag this year and if you dont draw that tag you still get put into the general draw.

I read about it - decided not to put in for it because I want more flexibility in who I hunt with. You have to hunt with the family member that you put on the application. My father inlaw is the only family member that I could use and he just cant do the kind of hunting I like to do. You can add up to 8 family members on the application so if your relative(s) is who you already hunt with regularly than it is a good way to increase your chance at drawing. There are other stipulations as well so you will want to make sure to read the fine print.

Crap.  I've got to talk my sister into moving to MT... :chuckle:

You pretty much have to have been a resident of Montana in the past to put in for this license.  It's not designed to let everyone who has a relative in Montana to be able to start hunting in Montana.  If you read the regulation completely you must have completed a MT hunter safety course prior to March 1 2010, or have purchased a MT resident license in the past.  These tags are designed for people who have moved out of state for employment and yet most of there family still lives there.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
You are never to old to learn something stupid.
