How many of you...?
« on: April 23, 2010, 08:43:31 AM »
There are a lot of people looking for training birds on this thread.  I tried to post some birds for sale, but the post was locked , and I am being told to list in the classified.  OK, I admit I worded the post wrong and that it is in violation of forum rules, but my question is...How many of you look for training birds in the classified section?

Not trying to cause trouble, just curious.

Generally speaking its to keep spam from showing up all over your forum.  We allow private sales in the classifieds as a service to our members.  We do not allow market sales on here unless you are a sponsor.  The sponsorship plus donations is what keeps this site afloat financially as it costs about $130 or so a month to host this site, plus offers member something in exchange like great knives and taxidermy work etc.
For instance, I raise birds and am even a sponsor, but you don't see me selling birds all over the forum.

if we do it for you, we'll have to do it for everyone...which isn't going to happen.

If you see someone wanting birds, you certainly can pm them or post an advertisement in the classifieds and give them a link via the pm.

If you are interested in becoming a sponsor then let me know, and you can sell them in the sponsor thread.   We do offer some leeway at our discretion to some of the sponsors like the taxidermists, as they can post their work in the taxidermy section.  It is limited though and we try to keep all sales stuff either to the classifieds, or the sponsor section.

Honestly, I've never looked in the classifieds because I'll just be interested in buying stuff that I shouldn't or I don't need. hmm, maybe, just maybe, a sticky classified for each sub-catagory would be doable....fishing would have a fishing classified, archery would have an archery classified? etc....just not the general because there is already sort of a general classified section?

sorry if I'm suggesting a bunch of work for you guys....
