pic of a turkey i got
« on: February 02, 2008, 10:20:20 PM »
This Tom has a 9-3/4" beard, his spurs are 1-1/2 and was shot by me over by Giford, WA.  He was mounted by Jeff Reeves who specializes in birds and fish and now does dear ect. the case was made by my father in law.  He is the finest wood/crafter I know of.  anyways thought everyone would like to see it.

Love the mount.  Those are some incredible sheds.  Are those yours or did he add them?  I found an awesome shed that I have incorporated in one of my pheasant mounts on the Klick while steelheading.  I came to one of those lovely cliffs and went up and around it, in the hot sun and my neoprenes. Lowe and behold, here was this nice shed laying there.  Thought I'd share that since you obviously like the Klick.

you may never believe how i came accross these sweet sheds.  but here it goes anyway.  we, i mean wackmaster and another hunting partner and i were traveling to another peice of private property to hunt turkeys, just so happens to be were i shot mine.  we were going down the 50 mph  road/hwy. and wackmaster was telling me a story of seeing lots of mule deer on a hill side we were traveling past as he was rambling about something i said stop the truck,pullover!@!  i exclaimed.   back up.  why?? they both had to know.  i said i think i saw a horn.  laughter!!!! followed by ya right, but back up they did and out i got into the sage i went and these babies are what i got..  i hallered out.  they weren't laughing anymore.

Yep, there are some big boys there. :)   AWESOME!  I've done the same thing.  Best elk shed I found I was with my hole family going on a drive.  Everyone was out shedding.  8 trucks had passed me on the way up.  I was staring off into the woods just  dreaming of a shed I look forward at the road and catch something in my eye, as I get closer I drive faster and then I say an exclamation, probably not suitable to a carload of girls.  I ram the truck into park, before I stop moving...not advisable, bail out and grab a monster.  No time for pics.  it was literally touching the road.  I have NO IDEA how all those trucks drove by it.  NO IDEA, but I didn't care.  I later saw the bull who had lost them both, but couldn't find the match.
