Here's a question for you guys though:  Since when did Turkeys get the nickname "Thunderchicken"?  I always thought grouse were called thunderchickens?

  Im from Louisiana, and down there everyone calls turkeys "thunder chickens". I know my cousins in Miss. and West Virginia call them that too.I guess its because we dont have any grouse, so we had to call something a thunder chicken! Thats just what I was raised.
