Spring break crappie fishin

when I finally get done with my 2 biology classes 1 chemistry class and Spanish 311 I will at last be able to go fishing!!!! ...OK so I have been out the last 2 weekends for walleye...but now its finals time and my grades unfortunately have to come first.... I think I have 7 tests in the next 2 and 1/2 weeks...bummer....anyway, i was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for some late march crappie fishing.   I used to do well at Sprague in years past, but now that's a joke, and I also used to do OK at long lake but again access is usually a problem there, since I only will have a week to go out, I just want to improve my chances of getting fish,  I was thinking about trying bonnie lake out but i heard that its no good when the water is murky and you should wait for it to settle, but who knows when that's gonna happen...?  anyways, I am just kind of ranting cuz I don't know what i am gonna do or where to go, ...and I hate not having a plan... maybe i should just stick to the walleye fishing till it closes in the arm,  anyway thanks in advance,    Brandon.

Bonnie Lake is a good one and not too far from you.  You will need a small boat and trolling motor.  We have killed the crappies on there in years past.  I might head out there myself after a couple of warm days.  I highly doubt it's very murky this year with hardly any runoff, but I could be wrong.  If I go, I'll let you know.

that would be great if the water wasn't murky, I have only been up it twice but feel like we are a little more educated on the prop busting rocks in the slough...when my dad gets his boat fixed it will have power tilt and so he will be able to get through it without any problems...until then I have a buddy with a little 12 footer that should work good...i am not sure what the "launch" looks like but I know that its not in the greatest shape...is there anywhere to shore fish for crappie on that lake?...I would be really interested to hear how you do if you go out too.

Seems awfully early for crappies.  One of my favorite fish to eat, scale, filet and fry with the skin on, nice and sweet!  I wish I knew somewhere here on the westside, north end, to find them.  Good luck!

i've always heard of silver lake down by castle rock being really good in late winter but i haven't fished it in over 10 years.  might be time for a trip.  it's 1000 acres, but the deepest spots are only about 10 feet deep.

I don't know  lokidog...I have heard of a few people that are already catching them on Washingtonlakes.com...but not in my neck of the woods yet... although that doesnt mean that someone isn;t secretly slaying them by the bucketloads....    .... some people say Eloika is good before the weeds hit but I only caught 3 the one time I went there last year...

Good to know.  I grew up in WI and they really didn't kick in until late April with some warmer water showing up.  I have not targeted them out here but have caught a couple in Banks and Potholes Lakes while fishing for bass.
