I sprayed one rifle with it and loved it. I bought the kit that came with the cheap-ass harbor freight airbrush and the mix for maybe $50? Make sure you do good prep work. On mine I had sandblasted and parkerized it prior to spraying. They make a wood filler to smooth out wood prior to spraying, I would recommend that for the stock. It is possibly the easiest material to shoot with no drips, very smooth. Tip - instructions say to run the brush at 35 psi, I couldn't get it to even come out, try 50.If you don't want to go through the hassle of airbrush setup and all that, try Brownells gun kote. A friend of mine has finished multiple guns with it and it holds up pretty good. Dunno how it would do on the stock though. You must have picked up that boyds stock a few weeks ago when they were on clearance, I almost got one but just couldn't stand that color!
its not a boyds stock that i know of. It came with the gun from Cabelas. It was in their add for their last sale that was saturday only. I'll get a pic of it on here tonight or tomorrow if i remember. i'm looking into that hydro dip process also but it seems expensive.
