bobber fishing

What is it about bobber fishing? I have fished in the bass cirsuts, and clubs in past years, guided a little for walleye, fished the ocean for salmon, rockfish, and halibut but I love bobber fishing! Ther's something about watching a bobber go under water that is just so cool I can't explain it. Mabey it's because everyone can do it, and see the bobber go under, I don't know. Seems weird.  Does anybody else get stoked about it?

gets me giddy like a school girl. My new thing is the strike indicator while nymphing on the Yakima. Gets me going every time. The way I see it is that if that does not get you excited then you shouldn't be fishing.

Well... Since I have to fish from the bank, last summer when I hit Roufus Woods, I didn't have problem casting a bobber at all. Worked the one day.  And I remember jetty fishing at Illwaco when I was a teenager, we'd rig up a slip float for Salmon.  I learned it there and did the same thing fishing from the beach at the jetty at Point Defiance at low tide for Salmon.

Always a float or bobber in my tackle box.

Man there is nothing better! I've had guys want me to put indicators on their halibut gear. It is something ingrained for sure. I'd rather nymph than swing. There is just something about it. Can really explain it, just get a buzz off of seeing that little orb shoot down underwater. I get that from a plug take too though... maybe its just the take. I'm a visual kind of guy anyway.

Still, my favorite way to fish.  I caught everthing from bluegill, to crappie, to yellow perch, to catfish, to trout, to carp, to tench, to bass (up to 5.5 lbs) while working a jig/worm combo under a cigar float.

sure has gotten popular for steelhead, ive used them while fishing for kings which works good

Gotta agree with you on that!! Thats how my kids all learned how to fish.

I like bobber fishing, especially at night on opening night.

Set out a needle bobber under a colemen lantern and watch it bob.......

Tough to do from the bank...  But backbouncing is a lot of fun. I just got my new rod setup...come on fall!

I've been known to toss a float or 2 but would rather feel the bite than stare at a float all day.

Big deep slow holes are for hover fishing.
