Hi All, here is a Northern Shoveler I just got mounted up.  I sure love these birds.  They have a lot of color to them.  Hope you enjoy the pic's.  John

How can we not enjoy the pics??? Awesome work as always.

Also time for you to start thinking boat maintence. About mid april should be the time for banks.

Awesome job John. You did a beautiful job on feather placement. The pose you chose shows off all the magnificent colors the spoonies have.

I have always wanted a spoonbill mount.  I just need to get a full colored one.  Very cool bird.

That's an especially fine bird, especially considering the fact that they're just about the last bird to get colored up in the fall/winter.  I've seen them in early January and their heads were still partially molted.

Tom, your right on about the head.  That is why I took a close-up of the head.  It was a fun one to mount because I didn't have to deal with the feather loss in the head.  It's not often you get a Spoony with the head that plumed out.  That bird was shot at the end of January.  Nice to hear from you Tom.  John
