American Pioneer Powder
« on: March 29, 2010, 05:45:03 AM »
I decided to turkey hunt this spring, it's been two years. I've never shot American Pioneer Powder, so I got some for my shotgun. Does burn clean, but doesn't seem to have the punch that other powders have for the same volume. What are some of your experiences with this powder?

I agree have had the same experiance, burns clean but not real hot. I have also read and talked with guy's that have complained about it being very suseptible to moisture. I have a bottle that sits on the shelf now. Some Guy's claim it is the same as Shocky's not sure on that one either.

I use 100 grains 2f Clear Shot works good clean and never had an issue with using it in the rain and snow. Not easy to find so when this can is gone I will either go to T7 or find some Swiss and go back to true black again.
Smoke em when ya see em!

I've been using triple 7, but liked the idea of a cleaner powder. After shooting it, it just seems weak.  :(
