eastern wa spring bear....score!
« on: May 15, 2007, 10:25:27 PM »
well I lucked out and drew a springer for the 111 area. good thing for me as I spend a pile of time there. I only saw 3 boars one deffinetly bigger than mine and one very blonde/grizzly at about 5-5.5'....a very cool bear. I spotted my bear in a swampy grassy area and watched him for a couple hours before I shot him. He walked right to a road I could drive to....nice. well I took a 125ish yard poke and down he went. no rubs, nice nice hair, and decent size too.

I am plenty happy with this one. My partner, who also scored the tag, has a chance to shoot a HUGE bear.......wish him luck.

thanks greg

Great looking bear!

How'd you talk him into dancing with you in that first picture?  :chuckle:

Congrats!!  And just what I need to keep me motivated.  Taking a 3 day weekend to go back after my westside bear.

I like to take a real life perspective shot, vs showing off my camera tricks. I tried to square up with him to show his actual size instead of getting behind him and making him look like a 9' bear. thanks for the chuckle though.

my neighbor asked me where I scored that nice bear hide......I replied, stole it off a dead bear.

Great looking bear.  I love that area.  How did you get one close to the road?  I always have to shoot one 5 miles in or something. ;)

let me say that what I call a road, you may not. it was far from a forest service road, but not too much for the toyota.

That's a nice Bear for sure.  Got a Heck of a hide on him especially for being a Spring bear.

it is a perfect thick coat. not a hint of a rub mark anywhere. it prolly helps that we are only 400ft off snow line.
