Reducing Kapowsin Spring Bear Season by 50% in 2011?

It is April 15- June 15.  I already explained in another thread why I was thinking about turning my card back in.

I noticed today that they do have the shorter season listed for 2011:

Kapowsin   That portion of GMUs 653 and/or 654 that is
               designated as the hunt area by Hancock Forest               150                   April 15 – ((June)) May 15

glad i drew this year,it really should be from may to june if they shorten it tho. ive got a feeling we'll get some snow this winter. hopfully i only need the first weekend. my buddy saw one up there this last weekend. its gettin close

The
Department is recommending reducing the season length in the Kapowsin Tree Farm unit from
April 15-June 15 to April 15-May 15 based on discussions with the landowners

I wonder why they wand to reduce the seaon? Maybe boot hunters aren't killing enough so they want hounds back in?

There could be another reason. At one point DNR was going to shorten the CF spring season to concentrate the hunters rather then have them spread out over two months.
