Removing a stuck rifle cartridge from a RCBS die
« on: April 13, 2010, 09:52:02 PM »
So i was resizing some .223 rem brass but then there was one that got stuck.  paniced i was thinking of how im gonna get it out cuz my dad would be home soon :yike:. So i ran to the garage got a 1/4 x 20die and bolt and a 7/32 drill. so i drilled out the primer pocket and flash hole then died it. Then goe a nut aouple of washers and a socket. Then i threaded the die upside down in the press.  Put the socket over the die then a washer nut ans washer then the bolt. And got a wrench and it poped right out :)

Oh ya I made sure of that. I was freaking out cuz I thought the threads might break on the cartridge. If that happened I would be needing a ride to Cabelas.

Man-o-man...I had the same thing happen to me last week...sizing 1500pieces of .223...

I did the exact same thing...bolt, nut, socket...first one took 10 minutes to "engineer" and get it done...the next one only took about 2 minutes!
I left it better than I found it...did you?
