Opening weekend with good people!
« on: April 23, 2010, 07:48:24 PM »
So me and a buddy of mine, from Pocatello, went out for the opener. He had never shot a turkey before and really wanted one. So I told him to come on up and I could make it happen for him. 10 hours later he arrived with a sleeping bag, camo, and a bow.
I started to chuckle!! I told him he might have wanted to start off with a shot gun then go to the bow. He said no way, and I said to myself this is gonna be fun. Finally 8 Toms later he got a shot at one and it folded like a lawn chair. I was pumped that he finally connected and happy that it was my turn.
Over the next few days we got to enjoy countless amounts of birds. We got to see fighting, breeding, Toms afraid of the pretty boy, a double bearded hen, and all kinds of other cool stuff! Over all it was an awesome hunt that I will never forget!!!!

Here's some pics. Hope ya'll enjoy.

You didn't tell the story on the 2nd bird...  :dunno:
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

Great looking limbhangers!  Congrats on the first tom with a bow.  If only your buddy had done it with a Hoyt!!   :chuckle:

Nice pictures, I really like the up close and personal shot of the tom!
