Yes, you will get wet.   :chuckle:   Sorry I couldn't resist.

Honestly I don't know the answer to that. But I don't think there would be much effect, other than making your turkey calls harder to hear.

Never had any luck in the rain!  As a friend of mine said last week, he said "well, they are not much different from humans they rather do it in the sun than in the mud and rain"  :chuckle: I think is is on to somethin :chuckle:  We saw birds in private fields feeding with hens and toms but no tom was strutting.  :dunno:

Yep, you can call them in in the rain. Most of the time they will: not gobble as much, be less active, come in more silent, sit on the roost a little longer, seek and spend the day in openings. But if it is raining too hard, setting up on a bird that isn't gobbling much isn't a whole lot of enjoyable. And if you are going to hunt for consecutive days, getting your clothes soaked isn't always the greatest option. I'd go eat lunch and take a dry nap. (Hard to tell, but it is raining in the picture.)

I just put my umbrella blind in a tree along a logging road/skid road, field edge, or other forest opening and wait for the parade.  Just need a place they frequent, and I'm nice and dry ...

I do the same thing. My BEST HUNTING FOR EASTERNS has always been in the rain!

The Ideal thing is for the sun to come out and warm up fast after a rainstorm !  They tend to be real active after the sun comes out.
