My dad and I did that trip a couple years ago (I don't remember the name of the charter outfit), and it was a blast.

That poor deckhand was running around all day, everyone went home with a huge bag of rockfish.

I go out with the slammer at least once every year and always come home with a limit of bottom fish and most of the time ling cod. It is a great boat and crew!!

I'm working on my truck today, to try to see if I could get some of the seal leak stopped or slowed down before I have to take it to the mech..If all work out I'll be in Westport before too long to load up. :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:

It's going to be open for nookies in a few days. A guy should think about catching them and bottum fish now. Nothing like a cooler full of nookie and bottum fish. :IBCOOL:

Brother and I have a trip out of Illwaco on June 25th.  8 hour trip for chinookie and bottom fish.  Can not wait, been a long time since I have been out on the ocean.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

The trollers had some real good fishing the middle of last week just outside of the GH bouy. Most of the fish are running about 15 pounds. Bottom fishing has been good but the weather has been tough.

The weather is supposed to clear up a couple days before we go out and stay nice through the week but who knows that's a week away. I am hoping to get at least one nice ling cod. Last year I went out on the Oregon coast and of all the people on the boat we only caught Two lings and none of us limited on the bass. I have heard the washington coast is quite a bit better.

Well I went out of Westport with the Slammer on Tuesday June 8th. There were 14 people on the boat and we got our 140 Bass within about two hours. We then targeted the lings. I got one keeper and one throw back. My buddy got two keepers and one throw back. The boat ended up getting 9 lingcod. My buddy was the only one who got his limit on the lingcod. It was a great day of fishing and I am glad that I went out on this boat. Great captain and deck hand. Thanks for the advice from the folks on this site. Heres a few pics.

At least you dont have to clean your own bass, thats alot of cleaning and they are poky.  Looks like one good ling how much did it weigh?

My grandson was the deckhand on the slammer today and they caught 15 salmon and 40 rock bass and some ling but had to run pretty far north for salmon but tomorrow are trying it south. The best thing was was one of the fisherman was a guide from montana and gave us his card and said he would take us for some fish but naturally we did;nt get drawn this year.
