Todays Sturgeon Trip 5/14
« on: May 14, 2010, 10:56:31 PM »
Met up with chester (Les), Hogsniper (Justin) and Hogsniper's girlfriend (Jenna) to do some sturgeon fishing today. Got to the river before daylight, but due to a little mishap by me, we didn't get fishing until about 7am. The action started off good, but then in the heavy part of the tide, the bite kind of died down. We stuck it out though, cause I figured the evening would be good, and it was pretty good. Our final count for the day was right around 35-40 fish to the boat. Jenna managed to out-do us all and land the only keeper for the day in our boat. She did great from setting the hook all the way until the fish was in the boat. My buddies who fished the slot I normally like to fish landed 4 keepers on the evening bite. Jenna's fish measured 48". I realized part way through the day that I hadn't taken many pics, but hopefully Justin and Jenna will add some of the ones they took. It was a great day on the water, and good to meet some people off the site. Now its time for bed.

Sounds like a good trip and looks like some good eating too.

Thats a dandy fish.Looks nice and fresh. What a great way to spend the day.Mind sharing which general area you were fishing.Wanted to hit the Kalama or Longview area today. But ended up building fence for some people that let us hunt there property.Maybe next weekend.

Lookin forward to gettin my Grandson out to catch his first fish.Probably start him off on shad then gators.

The best part was, she called it. Direct quote from Jenna in the morning..."I'm just gonna catch a 50-incher and be done."  :chuckle:
