If I ever get it figured out.....
Went to check on the peels I had found, ...
No fresh ones in the last week...
Decided to approach my area, that I have been hunting the most, from the other side, just to confuse the bear that has been messing with me....
Found some tracks  were he came through after the last rain....
wind was all wrong, blowing over my back down into creek bottom  :bash:
so I backed out and sat up on top of hill and "hunted" through my Nikons....
saw about a dozen deer, a couple Turkeys, and even had a duck fly down there, but no bear.  :dunno:

Been putting in the miles on the boots,  been out 2-3 times a week.  I have saw 5 bears so far,  all last years or so and not big enough to take.   I think I might suffer from reverse bear estimation disorder.... I may be underestimating the sizes as spring bears just look small!  (skinny) All I have seen are 125 or less.  That's my guess or should I say SWAG.  Might be time to lower my expectations,  now I will tell you if I get one within range of the longbow,  or a color phase... then its game on.   :P

I have been hunting hard, getting my feet soaked etc..
I find new sign everytime I go down into my favorite creekbottom, but have yet to see a bear.
the first bear to get within range of my recurve is going to meat a couple friends of mine, Bill Sweetland and his friend "Grizzly"!!!

got close tonight... and then found some 20+ fresh peels... storm ruined the evening hunt... WInd was blowing and raining hard!  Be back out there Friday.  North Skagit is starting to get hot.  Founds lots of fresh bear sign...  8)
