coyote pup

Caught this little guy out in the road yesterday.  I followed him down into the woods and found his den and some of of his siblings playing outside.

Near that den, With a wounded pup call, you probably could have 'found' mommy and daddy too!  :chuckle:

I told the girlfriend I was going to catch him.  I bet when he started screaming momma would have been there real quick.   I might try and get back out there and set up a trail cam outside the den.

They might be gone by the time you get there. They tend to have more than one den and if she caught your scent around the den she might have moved them.

For the past 6 days every morning and evening i've seen coyotes prowling the fields with long grass looking to find bedded down fawns. i drive the same route every day and never seen them out in plain sight jumping up and down and pacing these fields like i have in the last week.  this morning i saw 4 ina field all working there way to the center , last evening saw 2 jumping through brush and grass, and the prior morning i saw maybe 3  in a v formation wading through some 1 ft high grass.    :bfg:  they are definitely on the prowl!!
