i am a big leupold buff, i looked at a nikon for the 25-06 but said hell with it and bought a vxII 6-18X40 fine duplex. that makes about 10 for me
always a great scope and i never have to worry about them

The Talleys are great, and good choice in going with the 30-06, it just can't be beat. I'd go with the Talley's for sure. The scope, my choice would no doubt be Leupold, because they're American made. Not that there's anything wrong with Nikon. Lately I've just made my mind up to support American companies whenever I can.

it says the gun is guaranteed to shoot 1 inch groups at 100 yards. we will see i have 3 or 4 boxes of 150 and 165 grain nosler partitions from federal. it has a adjustable trigger which is kind of nice i will shoot it at the factory setting first my 270 wsm is set at 2.5 lbs. all my scopes are leupold and 1 burris. i have 4.5x14x50 vx3 on my 300 ultramag. but this gun is custom with a muzzle break a tactical bolt handle a sako extractor and and a custom barrel and muzzlebrake it will shoot about 1 inch or less at 100 yards. but the price to have this done was
but i guess you get what you pay for. the 30-06 is my favorite its the first rifle i bought for my self when i was stationed in california. i shot my first buck with it i sold it when i was younger i all most cried as i loved that gun. ive been waiting a while to pull the trigger on 30-06. thinking of getting a 3x9x40 to mount on it.

3-9x is perfect for a 30-06.
Which T/C rifle did you purchase?

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

Like Bobcat.. I try to support American companies whenever possible. BUT.. when it comes to scopes.. I choose Nikon every time.. and usually do for my other optics too (except my Swarovski spotting scope.. got that one for a deal otherwise probably would have been Nikon.) Leuopolds are great.. BUT.. I can not look through them and a comparable Nikon with the same features and notice any differnce.. BOTH look great.. and since they BOTH come with lifetime guarantees.. the only real difference is P R I C E. without perhaps a few exceptions.. Leupold is MORE.. much more.
.. I like the BDC better than the Boone and Crocket too... and with their new "spot on" site.. you can really dial that stuff in...

I will have to say the best Bino's I have every looked through though are a pair of Leica Geovid 10x42.. those are AWESOME.
