How crowded is 667
« on: May 24, 2010, 09:30:13 AM »
Hi, i am new to this site and want to thank everyone for the topics and discusions that i have read so far. I have been hunting the East side for years and the regs have changed. So i was looking at hunting the west side this year. My 12 year old son is hunting this year with his bow for the first time and i see allot of deer and some elk are taken out of the 667 unit. I get off the beaten path and hunt wilderness areas. I have read there are allot of gated roads here that will suit me and my son. Is this still a crowed unit? Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you for your time

fewer bow hunters in that area. You shouldn't have too many problems with the zoo's, especially if you're hiking back in a ways.

It can get pretty crowded. Many people like myself use it for quick one day and evening after work hunts. When its hot the areas close to water will have plenty of hunters. Use the crowds to your advantage.
663 is also close and semi crowded but you can camp and make a week-end out of it. Its also easier to get away from other hunters if you beat the brush. Motorcycles and road hunters drive the game deeper.
