What we do at deer camp to pass the time and recycle.
« on: June 07, 2010, 05:01:36 PM »
Camp Fire Games-Deer camp 2009 .MOV

Excuse the language. This is raw and UNCENSORED
Take all your aluminum cans, create a raging hot fire, use a solid steel pot, get it red hot, melt your cans, carve a mold out of a log, pour carefully.

Smelting is a form of extractive metallurgy; its main use is to produce a metal from its ore. This includes iron extraction (for the production of steel) from iron ore, and copper extraction and other base metals from their ores. Smelting uses heat and a chemical reducing agent, commonly a fuel that is a source of carbon such as coke, or in earlier times charcoal, to change the oxidation state of the metal ore. The carbon or carbon monoxide derived from it removes oxygen from the ore to leave the metal. The carbon is thus oxidized in two stages, producing first carbon monoxide and then carbon dioxide. As most ores are impure, it is often necessary to use flux, such as limestone, to remove the accompanying rock gangue as slag.

"Right now, I am thinking that If my grandmother was here, she would be lecturing me about how there are poor people in Africa, that would just love to have a Ruger, I would just say "Great, granny, lets just ship all the Rugers to Africa!"

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

Yeah, this camp started when we were all much younger and will go till we are 90 years old and gotta get up 3 times a night to take a pee.

We have a great time and everyone has smiles all week.  There is a group of 10 guys that never miss this deer camp.
Our woodruns are legendary.
Here are some more pics from last year.

We play Lenga (jenga with logs)
Also like to create camp robber catapults.
