Best patching method for Canvas Wall Tents
« on: June 20, 2010, 11:39:12 AM »
I have a few holes in a canvas wall tent that i would like to patch.
Just wanted to know your opinions on the best all around patch for canvas?
Thanks

Best to use another piece of canvas and have it sewn on with a commercial machine. Another fix is to use that liqued tent mender with a piece of canvas. I have used that numerous times and it does work.

I was reccomended by a local canvas shop Pliobond adhesive, cut you patches in a triangle shape so they shed
water better, apply Pliobond to both the patch and the tent with the triangle pointing up.
Pliobond adheres to the canvas really good and stayes flexable. I personally have had great luck with this stuff.
you can find Pliobond at Ace Hardware
