My buddy and I drew partner cow tags for the Taneum.  Should be a fun hunt, its usually the tail end of the rut that time of year out there so locating a herd isn't all that hard.

I did OK this year..I pulled a muzzy cow tag for Wind River and a second deer tag for West Klickitat. I have spent quite a bit of time hunting the Greyback unit for Turkey last year and this so I have some familiarity with that area, wanted to do some deer hunting in the area so I got my wish. I have some friends that hunt the West Klick, so we will go down and do some scouting this summer.

Anyone familiar with Wind River, I will take a look in this area too later in the year, but I would like a place to start if anyone has any ideas. I've never been successful with Elk and it does not look like too many are taken from this area, but I am willing to do the work. I would like to put some elk meat in the freezer this year.

Oh, I also pulled a multi-season deer, so I will also hunt most of the above areas in modern rifle with the guys I am scouting with. Give me a chance to dust off some gear I haven't used in about 5 years. I love muzzle hunting, I haven't taken one of the other boys out since I got my BlackDiamond.

Best of luck to all this year, now that the drawings are done, we can focus on the critters.

It's been next year for 15 years, the worst part is some lucky *censored*- 3 lucky *censored*s, drew the tag I wanted (wenaha east) with incredibly low points. One guy drew with 6, one with 4 and...............one with 2 points!!!!! WTF. those odds are incredible for them to draw against all the guys like me that had 225 names in the hat. the system sucks... OK I'm done bitchin, for now anyway.

I know lots of folks in this same boat... Max points and nothing.

I guess it just gives more time to prepare. Hope the wolves don't cut em down too much.

Lick Creek cow tag for me. I now know that area really good after spending 14 days down there hunting spring bears this year. Good luck to all tag holders. Jeremy
