Jeremiah will be rifle hunting.  He had two points but still a ton of luck on his side to get drawn.

My daughters are small and shoot a Win. mod.70 youth ranger in 7mm-08. You can get factory loads up to 150 gr and hand load 160 gr bullets for it. And I carry shooting sticks for them.

I can't even imagine being able to hunt a moose at his age, I was tagging alongside my dad with my model 94 30-30 with iron sites when I was his age. :chuckle:

Jeremiah and I watched some moose dvds and went over some moose vital charts.  The whole house has moose fever.  Our 4 year old is running around shooting the dogs with a lever action nerf gun saying they are moose.

What's he packing for a rifle?  The 7mm-08 is a nice gun.  Good thing about moose they go down easier than elk.  I knew a guide in BC never used anything but a 30-30.

.308 is even better - same cartridge as the .243 and 7mm-08 but larger diameter bullet of course.   Surprised the .308 with sabots never caught on - .308 for moose, 7mm for deer, .243 for varmits haha.  Can't wait to hear your updates.  We will be over there too call if you need help - sounds like you have plenty of hands though.

Still might be nice to work together to help both of these youngsters fill these tags.

I just purchased his tag today and they said that we would get the packet within the next three weeks.  I am starting to get more and more exicted for this hunt.

I purchased mine Wednesday and they told me a week.  Let's hope they arrive before October!

Got his tag and card in the mail, only thing left is the packet.  We went up shooting today for a couple hours.  Mainly the .17 and .22 but he did shoot the 308 alittle.  Going to take a drive  around the Methow tomorrow to knock on some doors for his fall turkey tag.
