Hornets nest
« on: June 01, 2010, 09:17:21 PM »
Anyone have any suggestions on how to preserve a hornets nest?  Ill be using one as part of a bear mount Im working on.  They seem to fall apart too easily.

Clear coat in many layers.  Then don't friggin touch it, move it, sneeze around it, pass gass, yell at the wife or kids.. Don't go near it!

And it'll be fine!   :chuckle:

That about sums it up. Also make sure there are no critters in it. I cut one down  late one fall while bow hunting, It warmed up in the rig on the way home and i had wasps/bees crawling all over the place. So be Careful.

Aqua net will work.  Just make sure the bees are out.  They come out faster than you can kill them all.
Cut em!

Uh, thanks.  :dunno: I have a feeling that JackOfAllTrades had the best suggestion with the second half of his comment.  Well see how it turns out.
