rusty shells

How do keep your shells from not getting wet and rusty seems like every time i go they seem to get wet.

Where are you keeping them? If you have a shell loop on your waiters take it off when you go into the water unless its high enough that it wont get wet.. but in that case you wouldn't be asking how to keep them dry I don't think. Really though don't go into the water with them and keep them in a blind bag. That has always worked for me.

I should explain better I'm on the wet side of the state.I always put my shells in a heavy duty zip lock bag but seems like everytime something happens i forget to shut the bag dont have time or bag comes open.I'm usually in muddy fields with standing water or la yen in a ditch with water in it I'm always come out soak and wet and muddy but its a great place to hunt .

Roll them in a dry towel when you get home and put some oil on your hands as you store them. I would also suggest not using the ziplock because that holds moisture.

theres your problem..... holding moisture, let em air out and dont listen to ICEMAN, keep hunting the wet side. Only the real men can hunt the wet side if you know what i mean.

I always keep my shells in a freezer quart sized zip lock in my waders, so they don't get rusty.  Lost the end of the barrel to a shell that the shot rusted together.  I also wipe down the metal casing afterwards.  They aren't solid brass anymore, so they rust quick.

probly cheap shells,plus i always go thru after each take'em out and wipe 'em down,when out huntin i also store them in a zip lock bag

Only take 7 shells with you, if it's a good day you won't have to worry bout rust. I keep mine in a quart slide and seal, put 3 in the gun, 3 in my wader pocket and seal the bag and place the rest back in my blind bag, I hunt with a dog, in a boat, the dunes, salt, mud, marshes and never have a problem, Oh yea if I run out I just do the same thing again. Not trying to be an a$$ just tryin to give some advice.

To the 206ers..........hunt the eastside and shoot em before they rust!  On second thought stay on your side and put em in a zip lock!

i have never had rusty shells,besides i'm a 360'er,never needed to waste gas  for birds to go on the desert land,plenty more birds here than there at least  where i go , are you a transplant 206'er sounds like it
