Who shoots a big fixed blade head?

Just curious? I have a friend that has killed countless animals with his bow and he swears by the big 150 grain Snuffers....he is always shooting the top of the line Hoyt (no, he doesn't have the carbon matrix yet)...

Do any of you get these big heads to fly well out of your compounds?

I just started shooting a 165 grain two blade this year, so I have yet to take an animal with them, but they fly just like my target tips.  I had to re-tune my bow a little to get them to fly correctly because of the 65 grains of added weight to the tip, but they fly great.  Also, the heads i'm shooting are 1-9/16" wide.  They are Simmons Land Sharks.

I just shot some broadheads today, 125gr magnus buzzcut 4 blades. Shot out to 7Oyards and got them flying with my fieldpoints after a small, small rest adjustment. Can't wait to send one through a pair of elk lungs!

Magnus 2blade are the $hit! shot tons of elk even had to gut out a big bull with them.

This could be interesting if we get some responses.  I shoot 180 grain Silver Flames, but out of my longbow.  Would a compound guy that could throw these a lot faster need to overspine their arrows?

Have shot the big snuffers out of my recurve and longbow for over 20 years. Have taken a lot of WT's, caribou, bear with this head. Leaves a great blood trail and a very strong and durable head.

Huh? They look like fixed blades to me. I'm thinking about trying some. Impressive looking and sharp as hell.

ive tried a lot of broadheads. i currently shoot the muzzy 125 grain 3 blade. they fly about 2 inches low and 1 inche to the left of my field points. easy adjustment and they are dead on. i punched through a muley last year at 60 yards and the blades were not reusable but they  did the job flawlessly. i think if the broadheads are made with tight tolerances in machining then they can be tuned to fly great.

I shoot the g5 montec 100gr broadhead. I used to shoot the muzzy but after shooting these I will never go back. Great broadhead and it flies true with the field tips. It also leaves a crazy blood trail.

I wouldn't necessarily call it overspined but you would need to find the correct spine for that weight of head.  Nice looking blade!  Kinda reminds me of the CX XT 4 blade but I am sure a lot stronger.

you missed my point of course they are fixed blades i was just saying washington state law says only fixed blade no exp broadheads my little bro shoot the buzzcuts and they have done great on the lighter poundage bows i shoot montecs as well as many others dead heads-zephyr-razor heads-tight point-striker-etc

My dad and I both shoot some 3 blade 125 grain fixed.  They fly well.  My dad has killed three elk with them, and 12 or so deer.  I have taken a deer with one.  Now I use two blade fixed magnus blades for my recurve, and they fly as true as fieldpoints for me.
