Pt Defiance, boat launch

got a new, well new to me anyways, boat. want to dunk it in at PtD, was wondering if the crowd is bad yet, might need some dock time don't wanna get in anyones way.  also, any idea what it costs to launch there.

Ahhh, it is all good, they got a marshal to keep the non-boating idiots from cutting people off and assist those in need...  The dock is quite big and I think it is four + lanes.  I thought it was $13 to launch.. After you come down the hill the traffic lane is close to the hill, so watch out for those in hurry to get by you, you swing left towards the payment area and pull up to whatever lane is open or he instructs to you.  Have everything ready prior to swinging around and then take your time to ensure that you do it right, without hurting yourself or the boat...  And if you get into a pickle, ask some one for assistance, especially the fisherman as they will understand, maybe the pleasure craft won't but everyone that fishes surely will help, as they remember their first launches and got a story about it...

This from the Metro Parks page:

Public Boat Launch
A newly renovated eight-lane launch ramp, open year round sunrise to sunset, is located next to the Vashon Ferry Terminal at Point Defiance Park. A marine pump-out station is located on the western float section. Vehicle/trailer parking is available in the upper parking lot.

Launch fees are on a peak/off season pricing structure. Rates are $13 for peak season, May 1 thru Sept. 30, and $11 during off season, Oct. 1 thru April 30. An annual pass, valid April 1 each year, is available for $250. Prices subject to change.

Guest Moorage
Guest moorage is available next to the launch ramp area. Stays are daily and limited to a maximum of 72 hours.
Daily fees are: Less than 19 feet $10
19-29 feet $15
More than 30 feet $20

Thanks guys, wish they had a marshal at all the launches. far from my first time in this rodeo, just been awhile.  might need to borrow the end of the dock for a little bit.

yeah long while. I've never seen it under $10  :P
