Help w/ Trophy Taker Smackdown rest
« on: August 05, 2010, 07:01:38 PM »
Having trouble with Trophy Taker Smackdown rest, the tension string that goes from my rest to cable, (which keeps the actual rest down,) keeps getting stretched, so the rest doesn't drop all the way down. I need to take the slack out of it every 20 shots or so, pretty annoying. I have tried pre-stretching the string several times.

Anybody have any tips or experience with this??
Thanks

Are you sure that it is stretcing and not sliding up the cable?

That could be, I'll have to look at it alil closer. When I un-hooked the string from the rest I was able to get approx. 1/8" stretch out of it. Thanks

Well checked the string and it's anchored pretty solid in the cable, pulled on it pretty hard trying to move it, couldn't budge it. I'll be taking it back and getting the older Trophy Taker drop away.

I have set a couple of them up on my bows and havent had any issues with them..
one thing to keep in mind, you dont want that cable over tight, you want it just tight enough for it to be holding the arm down.

Bonekellektor and Olddog, You were right, I was wrong, upon further inspection today I found that it was indeed sliding up the cable, thanks guys!!!

I bought a "Ripcord football" for my drop away. It is just a small plastic clamp that clamps the string to your cable. Easy to install, under 10 bucks and works like a charm. I prefer it over serving the string on, don't have to worry about it sliding.  :twocents:
