Three Leg Cow ? Another Picture added
« on: August 16, 2010, 10:18:29 PM »
I was looking though pictures that my cuddeback got and noticed that it appears that this cow only has three legs. Looks like the left hind leg is gone just above the knee.
I added another picture with out an elk  standing where the stump ? is, I do not see a rock there or that she is straddling somthing. Maybe the leg is behind the other, I would not expect for her to look this healthy if she only had one leg in the back.

I shot a bear like that.  He was missing a back leg just below the knee.   Maybe thats why he was having trouble running up the hill when I saw him out grouse hunting.  It was a shock for me when I was reaching under him for the leg to drag him down the hill.  There was no leg.   Theres a reason why in Sept. theres always a rifle in the truck.  They called Tri-pod killer after that.

Great Pic.  It amazes me how animals can adapt and naturally heal.

Seems health looking in the pic.
I'd expect her to be leaning forward, putting more weight on her front legs.
Cool picture.

after blowing up the picture it looks like she is straddling something so the left back leg below the knee is hidden.

1. Aint any meat below the knee
2. She will probably be a slower moving target
3. Where is that trail cam set up again?

If you blow it up you can see that is a rock that you are lookin at not a sleg stump.  The far leg is almost in perfect alignment with the forward one.  But if you look carefully you can see it back there.  Cool pic tho.

Are there two calves in the pic?  One right next to the cow and one out in front. Maybe she was lifting a leg for a feeding.
