Bear calling
« on: August 21, 2010, 11:32:24 AM »
I just purchased an electronic call at Sportco. It has the fawn distress call, I am going to Republic over the holiday weekend, will the call be effective in areas bears are feeding on berrys and such? Or would it be better to use in areas they are feeding on other vegetation, swamps and etc.
Or is it better to bring them in to you after having spotted them from afar?
I got my new .308 win sighted in yesterday so I am pumped to kill a bear!!!

Thanks for the advice!

It can vary depending on a lot of factors, but I would give it a shot. Sometimes bears eating berries are hard to call in, at other times they will run right up to ya. It is always easier after spotting them.
