Swarovski SLC

Well I went to cabelas on friday to check out the gold rings and buy a pair, $1399 later i walked out with my first pair of 10x42 swarovski slc's. All night i tossed and turned wondering if i just wasted that money, until 5am when my dad woke me up to go scouting and we stopped by a local clearing before daylight and i spotted a herd of elk instantly with em! Of course we saw a bear and i didnt have a rifle but i am definately sold on these things and will not be taking them back!!! I went to buy a pair of the gold rings and decided to check out the slc's and the gold rings could not compare to the slc's (IMO).

Good for you those are great bino's. I've had a pair of slc 10x50's that i loved until I looked through a pair of 10x42 el's. Don't look through any el's or you'll want to spend more money.

I've had my Swaro 10x42 SLC's for 15 years now and they are still great binos. They have made me a better hunter for sure. Dropped them I don't know how many times, left them on a stump in freezin rain and snow for 2 days before I found them again and had to thaw off the ice. My buddy bought a brand new pair of $500 Pentax this year and had to use my bino's to count the points on a bull we were scouting. Mine are used and abused and are still a pleasure to look through. I have glassed all day long with little to no eye fatigue. You made a good purchase.

Had a very similar scenario myself. Went to Cabelas to buy some EL's. Got them home and compared them to my old Leupold Wind Rivers. The EL's were better for sure. But I questioned if they were $1,500 better? After my first morning of glassing clearcuts, I've never asked that question again!

When i got home last night, i brought out the nikon and leupolds out and sat and compared for awhile but its so hard to tell when sitting on my porch goofing around. Today i got to experience low light, fog, 100yds away, and 1000yds away and i am completely sold on em. I could not be any happier...well maybe if i had el's i would be a little happier, but that'll be my next pair

You're going to love them. I had Leupolds (which are good) and upgraded to Swarovskis before hunting season last year. I've not regretted it. In fact, I'm kicking myself for waiting so long.

Nice choice!
I love mine and haven't and hope to never find a reason to want to change!

Good decision Lightning Rider. You won't regret it.
I would suggest looking through winged eyecups before purchasing them. I thought I really liked them until I broke one and put my old standard eye pieces in. I personally like my eyes closer to the glass and thought the standard eye pieces made things brighter. That's just me. I also had a problem knocking off the rubber on the winged eyecups after they had been used a while. I'd sell you a new pair I have, but they are for the EL's.

I prefer using mine with the eye cups twisted in. Seems like I gain a little more field of view and if I need shading on the side, I just use my hand.
