So how did you like the Rendezvous?
« on: August 30, 2010, 10:01:16 PM »
I thought it went quite well.
I missed some of the demos but the ones I did see were top notch. Especially enjoyed Pete Sheperds talk on wolves. For those who don't know Pete was game biologist in AK until his retirement. He had some great stories about trapping and airiel gunning wolves with some good insight into the politics of it all too.
Mike Monroe gave a great talk on taxidermy skinning and alternative markets and I always enjoy Bob Maiers how to demos. Gained some good info on building cages.
Couple of guys from the traditional bow hunters were damned interesting too.
Nice weather, good food and good friends, what more can you ask for?
Almost forgot, Rep. Dave Taylor 15th district and his wife were supposed to be there from 10 to 2 Saturday and they stayed 'till about 9 they enjoyed it so much. Nice people. We enjoyed their company.
If you missed it, well my sympathy's. Don't make that mistake next year.

Had a good time....met some nice folks and learned a lot from them.
There were some good presentations as mentioned above.
It never changes, but it is always different.

I'm never sure about these screen names but if you're talking about Dave he spent $350 for the barrel of beer to share with everyone. Pretty generous of him. Then again it might have something to do with the nearly empty bottle of Crown Royal sitting by his chair. :P
I kind of got out of the auctioneer job so he didn't get to assist me like last year, thank goodness. ;)
