Little Naches early archery elk hunt need tips.
« on: September 07, 2010, 09:54:11 PM »
My father and I have been hunting the Little Naches GMU since I was little and have had very little luck. He is getting to that point where he cant make it around like he used too and I havent had much time to get out and scout. So if anyone has any great spots or tips it would be greatly appreciated. Wish everyone the best this season and love this site!!

Josh

Thanks for the feedback. I understand how a hunter would be reluctant to reveal their hunting hot spots so I am just curious if there are any tips available for that unit. We typically hunt the late season over there and are unfamiliar with the animals patterns. any tips or info would be helpful.

thanks

More info is needed from you....

When are hunting?

Where have you hunted before, and you are familular with?

What kind of hunting do you normally do? (Road hunter, horse back, pack in several miles,, or just sit on a clear cut and wait)

We are going over the 15th-18th. We have hunted up Milk Creek Rd. and Rock Creek Rd. Normally we hunt the other side of 410 in the Nile and Bumping but like the spike & cow regs. my dad isn't very mobile so we are limited to mainly sitting with some road hunting. thank you for your help.

Also, we have specific forums for many particular big game animals. This thread would be more appropriately posted in the "Elk Hunting" forum.

If you are going to be mostly road hunting with someone that is unable to get out9 I have been there) then stay around teh Little Naches area. There are more clear cuts to watch and places to sit and watch teh elk move from feeding to bedding. there are plenty of clear cuts up the 1901 and a few newer ones between the 1913 and 1914 roads. EWlk cross these area regularly.

Disabled hunters can hunt up Fawn Creek (1912 RD) and elk are always up in there  ;)
