He is very close to 50 for sure, but yeah if he was in AK it would be to close to call.  Damn nice Moose, you should let a tag holder for that unit know where he is if you know one.  Judging from his bell, he may also not be a terribly old bull, and looking at his tines.  He could be a bull that turns into a absolute gagger!
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
You are never to old to learn something stupid.

Yeah, I don't know how to judge the age of a moose. Another thing that impressed me was the size of his body as well. What do you look for when trying to age a moose on the hoof. What is the "bell"

Holy Bull! If that's in the 49DN I'll trade you one of my kids for the location  :chuckle: Thanks for the motivation, not that I needed any more.

The bell is the beard thing that looks like a bell that hangs off his neck.

Sweet!  I'd like to see the bear too...

Anyone in Washington NOT going to shoot that Bull is outright nuts.  Figure if it is a WA Moose between the antlers is about 6-7 inches at best.  I would figure a Shiras Moose at that low end as alot of AK Moose range between 8-10.  My 58" inch AK Moose is 8.5 between and it was a about four years old.  So for arguments sake- lets say were conservative on this and go with 6 inches between.  That is at least a 48" Bull, if it is 7, well you do the math it is over 50" trust me.  Pop it and get to skinning cause it is a pig and will look good on the wall....  Tmike please tell me you'll tag this one......  Having gotten several Moose in AK, I honestly didn't believe folks when they were saying 50" for a Shiras, but this picture is worth it's weight for sure...  Made me a believer!  I was wrong when I discounted (privately) what I was reading and hearing.
