Finally!!
« on: September 15, 2010, 04:43:23 PM »
Well after a few years of working hard to fill my deer tag it happend about 0750 this morning (I wasnt even going to go out and got there late). I sat on this large stump that was about 6 foot off the ground. I figured hey, Iam going to try and calling using a can call from Primos. About 2 minutes later I had a doe and a buck come in. I watched the buck for a good 15 minutes while he was eating and waiting for him to give me a good shot. At 30 yds, he finally gave me a broad side shot and I took it. I didnt here the arrow hit and then it had me thinking, did i just miss that deer. About a minute later I heard a deer breathing really hard, i thought hmm, maybe lunged him after all. I waiting for about 10 minutes to recover my arrow, sure enough it was caked in blood, I was so excited. I then waited about 30 minutes not knowing on the shot. I then went to go look for him and found a good blood trail, I found him about 40 yds later. Thank you God. He is only a spike, but had a big body. For the first black tail with a bow he is a trophy to me. Now to Michigan for some white tails. I will have a pict up soon.

Congrats. Funny how those " late days " or " maybe I'll go for a couple of hours"   really produce a lot of animals. Good luck in the future. Mike

That is a solid body on that one. Good job. And introducing a budding huntress as well.
