The Palouse buck tag

This year i was lucky enough to draw the palouse buck hunt. i can hunt GMU's 127-142 in early november for whitetails. I'm currently attending wsu, but i come from the west side of the state and i don't know this area very well. Does anybody know what area i should focus on the most or what area has a higher concentration of whitetails? and advice would be greatly appreciated..

First off, get out right now and secure some land to hunt.
There is so much area up there it is really up to you where you want to hunt.   That hunt area has whitetails from the brakes of the snake all the way up north.
There is public land but it is pretty sparse.  Get out and get in touch with some of the landowners.

Agreed.  I shot a buck every year while I was at college in Pullman and I was on the 5 year program   Drive around and look for areas with signs stating "Hunting by Written Permission Only."  Contact the land owner and they'll give you permission along with the rules of their property.  Also do a little door knocking, it never hurts either.

Like said above, pick a direction and get some permission.  There are big bucks everywhere, including within sight of town (and in town for that matter).
