We got the Elk several weeks ago, but I never had a camera and He just e-mailed me the picture.  It was his first elk so that was real exciting to get a kid started out with archery  It was a-lot of Fun.  Called him in for a ten yard shot.  Only went about 60 yards.  Then the work began.  ;)

The next weekend I was less than a second from killing a 300 class bull myself.  It was just clearing a bush in the way at ten yards and i was literally squeezing the release when He spooked.  :bash: :bash:  Must've caught a little of our scent the wind was swirling like crazy.  A fun hunt though.  Can't wait for the late season.

Great bull and story !  He is really hooked now. It is great to have the younger generations getting involved and I am sure he will pass on the passion in the future.  Thanks for bringing him into the fold !  We basically did the same thing last muzzeloader season.  The young man was never hunting other than driving around with his dad.  He killed a nice 5pt and has had the fever ever since.

Ya, he is definitely hooked!  :)  Already a dedicated hunter.  We worked our butts off, and had a-lot of fun.  Definitely didn't stay close to any roads.
