A lazy day in the mountains
« on: September 25, 2010, 08:23:37 PM »
A few bears (no photos) a 3 point buck and the rifle hunters were not there. Plenty of grouse. Had to sample them.

Somewhere north of I-90 in a wilderness area. Just don't feel right sharing more than that. It's not an arrogant thing, it's a hunting thing.

Love it up there. It's paradise.

That grouse tasted darn good. Like chicken. Cooked it up with some carrots, onions beans, and noodles.

When I shot that son of a gun it was from where I had the photo with my bare feet. It flew all the way down to that group of trees with my arrow through it. Then when it reached the trees it flew straight up in the air like a rocket to about 50 feet and died. It came down with a plop into the brush. I thought I might lose it but it ended up being easy to find. My guess is that it went 200 yards. I wish I had that on video.  :chuckle:  Hearty bird.
