Willapa River
« on: September 24, 2010, 08:18:34 PM »
You gotta love our WDFG. At the present time the gillnetters are fishing the Willapa river from South Bend down river and the WDFG are making them throw back any wild chinook dead or alive. I'm not shure on the silvers. We all know that once these fish are in the nets they die in no time. The seagulls are happy though because the fish are ending up on the sandbars down river and i guess they have to eat also. Why not turn these fish over to the food bank or the needy. The WDFG also made the gillnetters install livewells on thier boats to help revive the fish, don't know how well thats working.

i was pretty glad i didn't take my boat up the river last weekend, 3 gillnetters lined up in south bend with their nets strung across all but about 10' on each side of the river :bash:
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun
