I don't really have a dog in the fight.  I have 1 friend who owns a Tikka... 7mag that he uses for elk.  Purchased it due to weight more than anything.  I have heard some reports of quality issues w/ Tikkas but I would say overall I've heard more good than bad by about 3 or 4 to 1.  Personally they don't really blow my skirt up but I can't say that's based on any real objective concerns.  At this stage, I'm not sure they can be anointed to the level of Rem 700s, A-bolts, Rugers, or even Savages.... guns/actions that have stood the test of time.  But, "time" will tell.  Hell, 20 years from now we may all be clamoring for Tikkas.

My remington 700 does not shoot very well out of the box. 1.5 to 2 inches at 100 yards and when the barrel even slightly gets warm it is out to about 5 or 6 inches. My CZ or this Tikka ... both of which permit 1 inch groups at 100 yards out of the box even after a warm barrel.

On the quality built side of things the Remington is top notch though. I'm guessing it is a bedding problem on this particular rifle.. however when a man spends 650 dollars on a new rifle they are not impressed when it doesn't shoot as well as something 200 dollars cheaper.

Come on admit it, some of you guys "do" have the pink caddy hidden in the drive way!
(mind picture of Boneaddict driving back from his honey hole with a monster bull in the trunk) LOL.

As far as Tikkas go, love them, I currently have a Sako finlight. If I had not bought this gun I would defiantly own a Tikka. Sub-MOA out of the box is nothing to sneeze at.
I still hear people bad mouthing Savage with arguably one of the best triggers made on a production rifle. Personally I believe the Tikka/Sako trigger "is" the best on the market. But that is my opinion and we all know what they smell like.  ;)

Congrats on the new Tikka, I am sure it will provide you with years of great shooting.

I bought my Tikka about two months ago. I found it used at Four Corners store in Castle Rock. The caliber intrigued me( 338 federal), the weight and feel impressed me. I have put over a hundred rounds thru it in that time. The hard loading is rectified by angling the barrel up or down(I don't remember which). The accuracy of this gun has really impressed me. The looks of a gun is secondary to function to me. I'm hard on them, just ask my friends. If I'm going from point A to point B I go the shortest way. There is nothing about the Tikka's that I don't like.

I have 2 tikka .243s now and both are sub-moa with factory ammo, they have great triggers and are lightweight. What more can you ask for?
I wish they made them in 7WSM.
As far as the banning---I have seen this guy before on other sites. I think he knows his stuff but in the end he causes way more trouble than he contributes.

I am new here, been reading for a long time. Thought I would give my opinion on Tikka rifles. I have two, a 30-06 and a .338 win mag. I have had many rifles over the years but the Tikka rifles are as accurate as any rifle I have shot. I really like the weight of them. Even the .338 mag is easy to shoot but I have been shooting .338 mag in a Browning A Bolt since about 1988. I will probably never hunt again with any gun other than a Tikka.

One thing that I've seen is folks proclaiming as a selling point of Tikkas is that they are supposedly 1 MOA out of the box.  Maybe I've been lucky but I'd have to say that the bolt action rifles that I've purchased over the years all pretty much have been "1 groups at 100 yards with the proper load.  Again.... not sayin anything bad about Tikkas but I'd don't necessarily see that claim as a big differentiator.

Just curious.... are the triggers adjustable on em, if so how easily?

I have a rifle out of the box which cannot shoot 1" at 100 yards.  A Remington which costed 200 dollars more. I'm not convinced there is any load you can put in this Remington rifle which will get it shooting nearly as well. That is... until there has been some work done on the rifle.. I also am aware that Rugers are hit and miss as well... I suppose that is a valid selling point that a company stands behind a garauntee that their rifles will shoot sub MOA.

I have seen alot of rifles that won't shoot MOA out of the box. Its really disapointing, some of the crap thats being turned out. I am happy Tikka is willing to stand behind thier accuracy.

I own one in 300win mag, it out shoots anything i have ever owned. This rifle is a killing machine as far as construction, yeah it is a little cheap but the mule deer that are on my wall don't seem to care, does little stick have to use a $4000.00 Rifle to then become big stick kind of like a superman cape?

Intruder, I'd say you have been dang lucky. The Remingtons and Rugers I have purchased in the last few years have been hit and miss. None of them shoot like ALL the Tikkas I own.
Yes the trigger is adjustable, easily and no the stock does not have to come off.

I have had my Tikka 300wsm for 5 years and the only thing I don't care for is that bolt shroud. When reloading data for the 300wsm was just beginning to come out shortly after it was introduced, I blew a primer using one of those under tested recipes. It blew the bolt shroud off the back of the bolt but I didn't get any powder in my face fortunately. The funny thing about my Tikka is that while working the load up, I saw no excessive pressure signs in the reloads until I blew that primer. I have been watching my chronograph more intensively ever since. When velocities take a big jump, I now know I have gone a step beyond the max load. All the other bolt rifles I have reloaded for have at least showed a slight stiffness in opening the bolt when overloaded but not the Tikka. Anyone else noticed this?
