handycap elk hunt help please.
« on: September 27, 2010, 07:39:19 PM »
first of all, thanks for everyones help on previous topics of mine. this is more for my uncle though, he has a handycap, rifle, elk tag for naches october 1- 10. we did a little looking around this weekend and saw elk all day. one 4x4, one bugleing back and forth but didint see it( in timber) and then a monster 7x7 down on the main road. he cant get out and walk more then a couple hundred yards on a good day. he has waited 11 years for this tag and not sure if he will get another chance. we kinda know the area but would like any help we can get to increase his chance at a good bull. my cousen and i will be doing all the packing so a bull with a big rack and a little body would be great :chuckle:. thanks again for any help. we will be in a white ford 4x4 with stock tires and a camping trailer(my uncle) or a "98" flat black yota with a little lift(my truck). we will be there friday to monday. good luck to all others too. stop by for a beer and BS elk talk.

belk, we are actually guiding a disabled hunter in that unit this weekend, give me a call and maybe we can help him out too, we've had a lot of success over the years helping disabled hunters.  And for disabled hunters we discount our hunts HUGE to help them out.  Let me know if we can help, we've been calling in some very nice bulls the last couple of days just to scout and film them...
Good luck.

thanks for all the info and offers( thanks ty ). we are staying on the main naches paved road up a ways i think on the left. going up thur. night.   i am real confadent in my calling skills, both bull and cow calf calls. as long as we can get into elk. i am a bow hunter and evan though i only got one bull so far i have done good calling them in, just a little weak at the finnish. pretty sure i can get one into gun range, i hope. :P. thanks again for the help. i will post again next week. good hunting to all.
