hunting island county

anyone know any good spots to rifle hunt in island county. first year hunting these parts and havent heard of anywhere good to go. if anyone has any idea or tips please share

I'm pretty sure all of island county is off limits for rifles.  You can hunt the modern season, but must use a muzzy, shotgun, bow, or even a crossbow I think. Check the regs.  You may already know this, but just making sure I help keep a member out of the pokey just in case!  As far as where, find a farmer and ask is your best bet.  Offer to work for the priviledge of hunting there.

Starting to get a little late in the ball game to be looking for a place on the island. ALOT a private property and little public land. Start knocking on doors and see if you can't get some permission for some private land.

And yes, Island County is firearm restricted.

All of Island county is restricted from using a rifle. There is an island you can use a rifle but its in the 407 unit I believe. Lots of private land...lots!
