My dad was over there a few weeks ago and he had told me that the sign that states # of road kill deer year to date versus last year. This years number so far was already significatly higher than last year. So I would have to imagine that the population is higher this year, or the deer fence is in bad shape this year.

I was just over there a few weeks ago to, and the # on the road sign was signifigantly LOWER then last year, it was less then half as many. I think alot of that has to do with them migrating down, and since it was a mild winter this past winter, they were able to stay up in the mountains. just my
I just got back from hunting the last 2 days of the archery season last week. Saw lots of deer 5-6 bucks a day.Only heard coyotes one night,but it did sound like we were surrounded. That being said it still is not like it was 5 years ago. I did not go over last year. So you think Winthrop is a good place to coyote hunt??I have some buddies who are looking for a Area to hunt coyotes. Where you seeing the biggest concentrations??
