Anybody seen what the birds are doin down in the Yakima area? I havent been able to scout it out and I'm thinking of it for early season

Not many birds around for the opener  :(. Im being serious Im not just saying that, I wouldnt hunt there if I was you.

Lots of Quail, mostly late hatch.  Pheasants are obissmal.  Chucks somewhere in between.  I've heard both sides of the coin for them.  Ducks, no idea

have not talked to my buddy that hunts down there. he does pretty good later in the season over in the toppenish/yakima area

I have seen only the local geese going from the river to the fields and a handful of ducks on the river. I have not checked the refuges yet to see if they have been flooded. With the cold spell we have been having this week I'm crossing my fingers some ducks will be moving through the area.

If you ask me you will need to make every shot count if you want something in the bag.

Go deer hunting!!!.....seriously man get out and look urself...why would I wana tell you where to go and how many birds are where.......the valley doesnt have many birds right now...you gotta look for em.....if you dont wana do your homework go hunt sunnyside and toot your kazoo with the circus.... :twocents:

luckily you are only 30 minutes away, LOL. I made 3hr drives each way to scout the area.

The only thing the cold spell here is doing is pushing the local birds out.  Until it gets colder up north and the snow flies up there it just hurts down here.

And as for numbers, I've been all over Eastern WA from Wilbur to Banks, to Yakima, Vantage, Tri-Cities, Moses lake, etc in the past few weeks and havent seen much of anything.
